Post subject:  A place to work in

Here is the shop I put in the basement. Now, I live in a large metropolitan city, so this is not as cool as having the real thing somewhere out on the Plains, but it works for me. The walls are reclaimed from a cedar deck I replaced. Made the work benches too. I got into old guns as a hobby after retiring and wanted a comfortable place to work on them. Current project is a Springfield Trapdoor carbine from 1880 that a previous owner tried to make look new, and used wrong period parts, a poor refinish on the metal and wood, and actually replaced the stock but it too is the wrong vintage. At least it is a carbine stock and not a cut down rifle.

That is really awesome! Doesn't matter if you're in the city, what a nice place to hole up. Thanks for showing us.
