Great photo! Steve....thanks for continuing to post photos and such. A few days ago I was visiting with my buddy Lloyd Moler and was shown a "Conversion" revolver he is working on. Wish I had a photo to show, but my main reason for bringing it up is because he is also doing a considerable amount of engraving. Working off of photos of Mexican conversions from the "Poncho Villa" era, he has noticed that a majority of revolvers carried by the Mexican revolutionaries are converted '60 and '51 models with very little standardization. The grips on this particular gun he is building has artificial ivory but Lloyd did and amazing job of "aging" them including the cracks often found on older pieces. I am really pleased with the '71/'72 Open Top I bought from Buffalo Arms and also pleased with my first attempt at aging my self. i might start considering ivory grips on mine after seeing the one posted here!
