Steam your hat over a tea kettle so it's pliable. Bend the edge of the brim over how far you want, I did a half inch, then clamp it down with clothes pins all the way around about a half inch apart. Let it dry for a few hours and take the clothes pins off. When you do, your brim will turn straight up, but have wavy indentions from the clothes pins. Next, just set an iron to steam, fold the brim back down and iron it smooth. When you're done, it'll stand again and be even. If you want ribbon on it, bind the edge before you begin.
