So ive had this Brescia Remington revolver for a while. The back of the cylinder was so worn that the paw would not advance the cylinder. I had been looking for a cylinder for a few years, but to no avail. I heard the other day that a Pietta cylinder would fit this gun. Well, I didn't wanna drop the cash on a new cylinder, only to possibly be stuck with it if it didn't work, so the project was in limbo. Dad stopped by today with a bunch of stuff he had bought a while back and we started going through it. Lo and behold, in a cartridge box on a belt was a Pietta Remington cylinder he had bought as extra and forgot he had! So I tried it and it fit! However, I had to shave off a bit from each side of the bolt stop to fit the notches, as the Pietta's notches were narrower than the Brescia cylinder. It works like a dream now! This is the second best news I've had all week!
Here you can see where the old cylinder is worn, compared to the new, and the difference between the notches (it's subtle) and also where I filed a bit.
