Pretty good flick. Not as adventurous as I would have liked but definitely hit on some of the difficulties of frontier life. It is worth the watch for sure. Better than most of the crap on TV now regardless.

Hi Guys ,
New member from Scotland , UK here - I watched ' Slow West ' yesterday about a young boy who has come out West to find the girl he fell in love with in Scotland - it's a beautiful film starring Michael Fassbender [ he's actually quite good ] - I won't spoil it further other than it was rather excellent .

I have a DVD of "Homesman" I think it is a very well made movie. Tommy Lee Jones not only starred in it, he produced and directed it. The DVD that I have has a section on the making of the movie.
Tommy Lee says this isn't a "western." It is a movie about an event that happened in the 1850's and just happens to be in the great plains..
Not as blood thirsty as most movies these days, but still a good story and they wear the proper clothing, carry the proper guns and have mules...
