This is a modern map that shows the Trail as it exists today as 56 Hwy, which goes through my hometown of Sasakwa and meanders towards Konawa in present-day Seminole County in south central Oklahoma. There were two trails that went through I.T.; the northern and the southern, which met together at Edwards' Post, about 6 miles east of my house. This is also where Jesse Chisholm lived with Edwards' half-Creek Indian daughter and worked as a trader and translator to numerous tribes throughout the Territory.
