Native American Plains Indian Club Head with Natural Crystals
This item was part of an collection of old Plains Indian artifacts sold by the Butterfields Auction House in 2001. Butterfield's ethnographic expert identified this as a Plains Indian "stone club head with three naturally occurring crystal projections". The crystals help make the stone head more effective. A groove is carved into the club head around the full circumference for wrapping the head for attaching the head to the club's shafting (not available). A small drilled hole intersects the circumferential groove. This is visible in the photo below. This club head is very unique and in excellent condition.
