And Finally

A very rare Ribbon Made up by Capt. Henry B. Freeman who was the commander of the Infantry with Gibbons Montana Column.
The ribbon was made for the 1881 Dept. of Dakota shooting team, probably no more than 10 to 12 would have been made
Also is a L.A. Huffman photo of Lt. Partello who was a member of the 1881 Dept Dakota team

Thanks for looking

Have seen or read anything about the "Bennett long range Matches" back in the late 1800's? I remember something about them when I bought my Shiloh..........I believe they were military gun competition....including Springfields.....Martinis.....etc.

I have not heard of that match, but I am more interested in regular Army

There was a range in New Jersey called Brinton not sure if they possibly held the match
