Do you know where to find any close up color images of Jim Bridger's Hawken?

Howdy!

Just a-funnin' just a-funnin'....

Seriously, they are hard to find, and poor images....considering the fame of the man and the gun. Oh well.
Here are three I had lying around:

Holy Cow!!! I have to have one of those!! I do hope TOTW carries all those parts...

:P

Seriously Mick, thanks for those pictures! Do you happen to know on the specifics of the gun? Mine came out to be about 13 pounds. IIRC John Baird said a lot of them fell in that 11 and 12 pound range...

Did those leave the shop browned or bright metal, or do we know?

Howdy!

Dunno.

I just have Baird's comments... .53 caliber, 31 1/16 by 1 1/6 flats barrel

Not that it matters as it is not relevant but... I know a lad who had a left-handed version of the KC rifle made from TRACK pieces/parts. It weighed in at 14 pounds. For puny me, and my weakling arms, it owuld have been an "over teh saddle" or buffalo rifle.... not an off-handed hunting rife.

Howdy!

Shiny brass sur is purdy.

And Italian brown shoe polish spray on stain is more uniform, and better protected against use and the elements by a thick layer of polyurethane.

It is a .54 caliber with a Ron long lock...a Orion barrel with a 1-72 twist. The walnut stock came from a local tree that was hit by lightning.
The rifle was made in 1997 by "Doc" Brown of Everson Wa.
This is my favorite rifle that I own.
Andy
