I like that!! I wish someone would produce these brass framed revolvers for people wanting a Confederate piece, instead of the crap they sell now

Howdy!

Cofers are rare, but the 3rd types (aka Production model) are the most common of the rares.

That is because Tom Cofer basically priced himself out of the market (even though he "cloned" a Whitney without a trigger guard) because the 1st type used a complicated two piece cylinder and an even more tedious to make externally primed metallic cartridges. (Plus losing the fancy cartridge... ;) )

Being a gunsmith and arms dealer, he did not have the factory or production ability to interest the Confederate in a contract. And sold out of his shop to the public, until the Yankees confiscated it. (He bought it back after the War for $650).
